Once you have
decided to embark upon your own African Safari there are a
number of additional decisions you will need to make. Farren
Safaris will spend as much time as necessary to help you
decide the type of African Safari that best meets your
expectations.
For many that will include
wildlife viewing, while others may want to make a visit to
Victoria Falls or a journey down South Africa’s famous
Garden Route their priority. Usually it’s the opportunity to
combine viewing Africa’s magnificent and still abundant
wildlife with experiencing some of Africa’s other stand-out
qualities that makes for the most memorable safaris.
Often we start
of by asking: "Would you be disappointed if you did not see
or experience any particular aspect of Africa?”
That question is the key starting point for any customized
safari.
Once you have
shared your priorities with us we will be best able to
provide you with our recommendations for combining our
knowledge of African travel with your specific interests for
an optimum African Safari experience.
Whatever African
experience you wish for, we can build a successful safari
around it. We have arranged weddings in Zimbabwe, honeymoons
at Victoria Falls and Golfing Safaris in South Africa. All
of these arrangements allowed our guests to include
opportunities to experience the culture and natural habitat
of Africa in fulfilling their individual dream vacations.
Your next decision
concerns the amount of time you wish to make available for
your adventure. We recommend at least ten days for any
African Safari. On average you will spend two days of travel
before arriving at your first bush camp and it may take
another day to shake off any remaining jet lag, which might
make a shorter vacation seem to rush by before you develop a
feel of Africa.
After determining what
countries your safari will include, we will provide you with
a comprehensive checklist that includes everything needed
for your journey, such as required travel documents,
immunizations (if needed) and recommendations for clothing.
We include details about the conditions of travel throughout
your African Safari. You will also receive a leather
embossed journal along with field guides on the wildlife,
flora and fauna of the areas your safari will take you
through.
African Safaris should
be planned at least six months in advance, for a number of
important reasons. The planning that goes along with
customized African travel takes more time than booking “off
the shelf” itineraries and the lodges and hotels we utilize
are in great demand due to their quality levels. In
addition, some countries require immunizations and/or visas.
Sometimes these will need to be completed a month or more in
advance. Most importantly, Farren Safaris wants to be sure
to have sufficient time assist you in planning the ultimate
African Safari of your dreams.
